have a 1999 jeep cherokee 4 liter in line 6.tilt steering wheel is lock in one position.the handle that you release to move the steering wheel up or down don’t have any tension on it.
Yeah. Jeep tilts fail in one way or the other. Either you can’t tilt the steering column, or the steering column doesn’t lock into position. That’s a fun way to drive!
If you can live with where the steering column is positioned that costs nothing. If you must have a tilt steering column then the easiest and cheapest way to fix it is replace the steering column with one from a local auto parts recycler.
