Steering Wheel Shake

#1

I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey and whenever I am driving above 45 MPH and I apply the brakes the steering wheel shakes a lot. This has been happening since we bought the car and the dealer said that it was normal and the car is aligned correctly. They said it had something to do with the anti-lock brakes. Is this true?

Based on your description, which may be incomplete, your Oddity is displaying the classic symptoms of a warped brake rotor. This may or may not be covered by your warranty. Expect the rotor to be replaced at your next regular brake service.

Antilock braking would not come into play on dry roads. If you experience vibration only on wet roads, however, you are feeling the normal response of the ABS awakened and called into action.
