Stalling 2007 Subaru Outback

hi. I just bought a used 2007 Subaru Outback 4 cyl with 125k. long story short, it sometimes won’t stay running stalls multiple times and has no power. stomp on the gas and rpms go up but speed is about 20mph. internet research shows this is a regular problem with these cars. replace throttle position sensor is only advice I can find and that part spectra tb1252 seems unavailable. any advice will be very appreciated as I spent all my car money on this car and want it to work

Is the check/Service Engine light on?

I’m thinking your clutch is shot, or if an automatic transmission it’s low on fluid or in need of rebuild.

In view of the problem s you mention and the likely causes, you would be foolish to start sinking big money into an 11 year old car.

Have a mechanic check this all out for about $100 and you will likely end up scrapping the vehicle to avoid a big money pit…

Take it to an independent shop that works on Subarus. If it’s a common problem as you say, a mechanic will know what the issue is and the cost to repair. That part number you cite is not a Subaru part number. Subaru probably sells the part and if not I did a quick search and found a couple of aftermarket sources.
