Hi when I apply pressure to the accelartor in my Honda odyessy a squealing noise comes from the engine area ? I took it to my local Honda dealer - and I think they where deaf because they said “we could not hear it”. True they where next to a highway … its really annoying when you are driving around quite streets … any suggestions as to what it might be?
Perhaps a loose or glazed belt slipping over a pulley or maybe a pulley bearing worn out.
Apply the Parking brake. Ensure the gear selector is in PARK. Start the engine and let idle.
Pop the hood open and when under it, speed up the engine by hand (with the throttle) (keep all loose clothing, long hair, etc. away from moving parts) and check where the squealing noise comes from.
