2000 gmc sonoma 4.3L V6 (vin has the W). I recently replaced the serpentine belt and the tensioner. After replacement I have a knock and my new belt is chirping at me already. I pulled the belt off and ran truck for a couple seconds. The knock is gone with the belt off, so I know it’s not in the block. I replaced the tensioner again, because I had another and at least wanted to eliminate something else. So I know it is not the tensioner and not the block. Basically in the past week the truck has had 2 tensioners and 3 belts on it now. The only other thing I can think of is that my ac has not worked for some time. The clutch used to kick on then right back off repeatedly, now it doesnt even kick on. I did tap on the clutch to see if it was stuck. That is the only thing I have done prior to the knock (other than the already mentioned belt stuff) Any ideas?
