Yes indeed…Even in 1956, a 2-tone paint job cost about $100 extra…

@jtsanders…OK, I agree with you but trying to sell an ugly vehicle does not help matters. I like Studebakers but a lot of people find them unappealing just like Saab, Renault, Volvo and Citroen to name a few.

Being ugly hasn’t hurt Renault. They are the 5th largest auto manufacturer in the world - ahead of Ford even.

People love ugly cars in Europe for some reason. The other thing that Renault does or at least used to do is give you a Europe wide warranty. So if you have trouble anywhere, they come and get you and take care of you. That may account for some of the sales.
