Shuddering Montero!

I have a 92 Mitsubishi Montero. It has almost 190k miles. I am the original owner. It has a 5 speed transmission.

Once the vehicle is warmed up, when I start rolling into a turn, I get a shuddering in what appears to be the drive train. It does not last and never occurs when simply turning in normal driving. It only manifests this condition from a dead start, in a turn. It does not occur if the wheels are straight when starting of.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

If your Montero has all wheel or four wheel drive, I’d suspect the front CV shafts. (Did they even make a 2WD Montero?) If you put it into a tight circle in 4WD and hold it there as you accelerate, do you experience the same thing?

I have not tried that. I will give it a go and see what happens.

Thks

Further, to the best of my knowledge, they did not make a 2wd for sale in the States. I think I recall a SWB 2wd model being sold in Cyprus some years ago.
