They have a 1:2 aspect ratio. Aspect ratio measurement of any tire is always elaborated in the form of a percentage. It gives an insight about the tire’s length from the thread’s top to bead. Therefore, the 50-inch thread implies that the height of the tire falls at 50% that of the width.

So according to your “theory” a tire that has a 50" tread is only 25" in height?
WTF? So much crap in one sentence. Where are you getting 50" tread tires? 50" tread refers to nothing but the tread, and it does not refer to “tire height”. The aspect number is a percentage that refers to “sidewall height” in relationship to tread width. nothing more nothing less. If you can’t say what something is, then don’t, there is enough wrong and/or misleading info going around already.
