Should I replace my ECMB?

My 2007 Saturn Vue Hybrid apparently needs a new ECBM. Various lights (check engine, ABS, traction control, etc) come on and off, and the engine ‘hiccups’ a few times a week. Otherwise, it drives fine. Am I damaging the car by not replacing this piece?

Before shelling out money to replace this, I would check your battery connections, charging system voltage, and have the alternator checked for AC ripple. Also inspect the electrical connector and any grounds near the module. A fluctuating input voltage can wreak havoc with your car’s systems. You say the check engine light come on–have you had the codes read? Who diagnosed the bad BCM? It could indeed be bad, but it would suck to spend to replace this to find that nothing has changed.
