Should I get another car

Nevermind I think Im over the colt thing. The advice to look towards newer seems to make sense. Got my head out of my past.

One thing that weirds me out about this car is the engine and trans are fine and everything actually is fine except the body?

i wonder if I should take it to a high school body shop and have them take care of the body. If I really liked this car I’d consider doing that. Who knows how long it could last if I did that. I dont think I want to. I’d rather get something more practical? But would anything be more practical?

Spending more than 2k on a good used car doesnt seem economically sensible? I have no idea really. Spending more than that doesnt seem practical and I could end up with another sedan. I dont like the idea of spending a lot on a car because what if something goes really wrong? Like an accident or who knows. I guess I have aproblem with inflation.I was so used to being able to get decent used cars for 1k and now its 3k. That throws me off. That messes up my game big time. That makes it seem like it might be better to keep the car I have I guess. If I cant do better for 2k? This inflation is screwing me up.

I had a good experiance with the Nissan Dealership…also I have a lot of experiance in Sales and see I don’t B.S. customers. When I worked retail…I did a lot of research on products we sold in order to help the customers. Selling Cars should be the same way.

I got used to buying cars for 1k. Then I got a hand me down this olds then while I was enjoying my hand me down inflation mustve soared so now Im shocked in disbelief!

So inflation mustve tripled since I bought my last 1k car. Lets see I bought that mustve been. that may have been quite a long time ago. Mayby 10 yrs. ? So in 10 yrs inflation tripled?

Mayby whats throwin me of here is purly inflation and Im upset that I cant beat it.

Apparently there is no way to beat inflation when it comes to cars.

Mayby thats why my dealer friend doesnt want to sell me a car. Because I wasnt thrilled before how on earth could I be thrilled now? And mayby its cheaper at this time to keep a car.

I havent noticed inflation at the mechanic Ive been going to and have been wondering how hes been able to come in at those prices.

Am I being too dull? Why has the responce declined?

Mayby he deserves the golden wrench award but I havent been able to verify his work because its stuff that I either cant or is taking me a while because of the leaves; I cant see if it still leaking.

“Am I being too dull? Why has the responce declined?”

Perhaps it is because you appear to be talking to yourself in spurts of very brief, totally disjointed comments. Normally, you will continue to receive responses when people perceive that there is value to a thread.

However, just as people will tend to avoid individuals who talk to themselves in public, members of this board seem to be avoiding this thread because of what appears to be conversations that you are having with yourself. Unfortunately, what you are doing is apparently making it very difficult for people to see any value in responding to your thread.

This isn’t an instant message (IM) type of site. You are jumping all over the place in a stream of conscience thinking, blurt it out, no editing dialogue.

Forget getting another Colt, just aren’t any out there for sale.

You believe your mechanic has made your car safe, so keep driving it.

A high school body shop works very slow, you’d have to leave the car with them for several weeks to a month or two so you’d need another car to do that.

Yes, inflation has made a $1,000 car pretty much a piece of junk. Now you need to spend more money to get a decent car. In addition, your $2-3K car will need another $1-2K in money for repairs soon after you buy it most of the time. To replace your current car you need something like $3-5K. If you don’t have that just drive the one you have until you save up more money.

that statement about stream of thought was kind of techy for me. I went to a body shop my mechanic recomended for my rain leak and the man there told me it could cost a lot and theres an area that may be a cause that he said he couldnt fix near the fire wall. He said he personally would not put any more money in the car. So he seems to disagre with the mechanic that sent me there? And my car is still leaking underneath. Im in aposition where I could go without my car for the time mentioned.

I was just trying to sort all this car stuff out. I dont see how it is disjointed. How could I be talking to myself when I’m posting data in hopes that someone could help or relate?

I have t accept the inflation.

Well, since colt seems to be oblivious to the advice that has been given, I suggest that we all just cease our attempts to respond, and just allow him to continue his stream of consciousness posts (it’s not “stream of conscience”, Uncle Turbo!) in which he is talking to nobody but himself.

I admit Ive been mayby too free with my posts. I’m sorry if that upset you both. I appreciate your replies.
