My toddler loves to sit in my manual-shift 2001 Honda Civic and pretend like he’s driving – including shifting gears. The car is off, so the engine’s not running, but obviously he’s not using the clutch. Will this hurt my car?
It may hurt your toddler if the parking brake is not well set and it starts to roll.
I wouldn’t recommend it. Too expensive a toy to experiment on.
The transmission was designed to be shifted with the clutch depressed. I would not recommend it either.
