My wife drives a Honda with the AFM, and it’s also seamless.
I’m very careful about using the correct oil in both engines, though, as I know that’s important for the AFM system.

I had a turd 2008 Sierra. To be fair, I could hear the lifters at idle on some of the new 09 Silverado’s in the dealership parking lot. There was a TSB out around that era that called for lifter replacement.
Sort of a shame. The pre AFM 5.3’s were super reliable. After they received AFM, the reliability dropped. Maybe they’ve worked out the kinks by now. But I’d probably rather have a Ram
