Seal swelling or stop leak for leaky hydraulic clutch cylinder?

That’s the one I’ve seen in Miata engine swaps.

Yep, which is why SBCs are so popular.

That is interesting. I found out there are there are differences in even some of the more modern Ford engines like the 4.6L. I had one in the old 1997 F250 light duty that recently gave it up. They always wanted my VIN number when buying parts and mine was always the complete oddball. There are parts that I don’t think I could have replaced if I needed to like the flywheel. Mine used a 6 bolt pattern but none of the 6 bolt flywheels that were supposed to match did. The Ford part in the casting was obsolete and not available. Buying parts for this truck was a nightmare at times. There were a lot of things from previous and later models in my truck that didn’t match the computers at the parts stores.

I was at a Ford dealer parts dept. asking about the IMRC. They kept telling me my truck didn’t have an IMRC and that the diagram they pulled up correlated to my VIN number. I kept telling him I had an IMRC and they kept telling me I was wrong. They didn’t even want to go out and look under the hood but I wouldn’t drop it. I pointed to the IMRC and asked him what this was if it wasn’t an IMRC. They were really shocked and agreed my truck had an IMRC. That was the story of that truck. It ended up not really being a bad truck and I got a ton of rough use out of it before I gave it up but it was a pain at first. I wouldn’t buy it again if I could go back in time but it worked out OK in the end.

I hope the new to me 2018 5.0 isn’t this big of a pain.

I always hear that the Hemis need some building before adding too much power, for fear of a blow up. I have never been much of a MOPAR guy myself and prefer Ford or Chevy but know a lot of people are die hard fans. I hear that the new Hurricane engines are going to be a real nice addition and all to compete with more modern designs like the Ford 3.5L and all. Local shops have said that RAM may have gotten it right with some of their recent engine and transmission combos but I have never really been a MOPAR guy.

It looks like the 4.8L is common as dirt on the used market. I have heard good things about them as well.

Haha! I recently bought a 2018 F150 w/5.0L. I already ran into the unicorn situation when I had to replace a leaking coolant pipe going to the heat exchanger on the transmission. The truck has the optional 5.0L Coyote w/factory plow and tow package and the 10 speed transmission. Took me HOURS of online research to find the correct parts.

The typewriter tick had me very concerned when I first heard it. Sounds a little bit like a diesel to me at times. Still a bit worried about it being something more concerning but it makes what is described as the normal ticking sound they make, most noticeable in the passenger side fender well, at idle when warm.
