Is there anyway you can keep the battery a little cooler?
Well, we are in “winter” now so will see if the cooler weather has any impact on the problem.
It has now been almost 5 months and it appears that the root cause of the problem was a series of bad (new) batteries. When I bought a new battery for my other Saturn, I paid a lot more in hopes of not getting a series of lemons. It was suggested to me that during the summer I dump a bucket of cold, clean water on the battery to wash off the accumulated acid deposits. I don’t see any harm and it might help.
