My car is officially a Total Loss and I would like to purchase a used vehicle. One vendor that my car insurance “Network Specialist” works with is Enterprise Car Sales. Obviously, some of these cars are USED RENTAL VEHICLES. They offer nice warranties and certifications… What’s your take on these cars??
I bought a Ford Taurus from Hertz. 18,000 Miles on it and it ran good without problems.
I would not however go to Enterprise. Almost every car I have rented from them has had evidence of bad maintanence. Also their renting policy is more flexible compared to Hertz or Alamo.
You can also get a great deal on a Fleet Vehicle from your Ford or Chevy dealer ( Taurus or Chevy Impala) with the original warranty remaining and you can get the OEM Extended warranty to keep your mind at ease.
It is a mixed bag. Like any used car have it inspected by a mechanic you trust and hope they find any major problems.
If it were me, I would take a look at them and if it looked good I certainly would not turn it down because it had been a rental. They may be driver harder, but so might that one owner used car and they usually have had good service which is better than most used cars.
