I am wondering what people’s thoughts are on Remote Transmission Filters? Since a transmission is such an inexpensive fix I was thinking a 30 dollar install and a yearly 5 dollar filter isn’t very much. Does anyone know if it actually helps? Are there any downsides?
I would guess most people like yourself would be doing regular maintenance and would not benefit much if any. It might be a good idea for those who never get around to changing the fluid or cleaning the internal filter.
I would bet that on average, there would be more failures due to DIY work and poor quality parts than benefits.
If you know what you are doing or have a good mechanic do the job, it should help a little, but I personally would not bother with most cars.
