Yet something tells me that that wouldn’t be the best place to ride out the storm.
I was very impressed watching my buddy’s Snap-on scanner doing the relative compression test…
Glad the Florida members on here seem to be OK so far…
Just lost power at 730AM. Otherwise A-OK.
I heard someone say- waiting for a hurricane is like being stalked by a murderous turtle.
Hope you are all safe!
The relative compression test has been around a long time and does work quite well at pinpointing cylinders that have lower compression. Most newer tools do indicate the cylinder number in the sequence. Plenty of youtube vids out there showing how it works if you haven’t seen or heard of it…
Wow, ppwer back on, less than two hours
Spectrum is out.
Hey, every overpass is a hill!
Got home a half hour ago. Power and internet is on. One small tree leaning, another flat on the ground. At least the big Palms and Oak are fine.
No damage to the house. No wet feet.
The eye passed about 1/4 mile south from my brother’s house as a cat 2. No damage which is somewhat a testimony to the construction design and quality. House is about 6 years old. He said the house sounded like a wind instrument at the height of the storm…
What a relief for you as well, so glad to hear you’re safe and unharmed!
My house is 50 years old! But built beyond the code of the time so the structure is solid. I have added Miami Dade rated impact windows doors and sliders, added an additional 10p nail to the strap ties to the roof trusses. (The guy I hired was skinny and flexible… no way I could do that!) And the roof uses 165 mph rated shingles with the butyl underlayment under all of it. There is nothing more I can do to make insurance happy.
I was very pleased to have power when I arrived home! I love FPL!
Thanks for all the good thoughts.
I’ve heard that isn’t uncommon withOUT storms!
Glad you are safe and that power is on.
