Do rear disc brakes have to be bedded like the front, i.e. 5 to 6 moderately hard brakings from 50 to 10 mph, then letting the brakes cool down.

Work your way up to moderately hard. Just drive around your block with light applies at each corner. 3 times around, let them cool with run up the street and back. Repeat with medium applies, cool, one more go with heavier applies. If you smell them, then go straight to the cool down cycle.
Or you can just drive them easy for a week or 2.
