One very cold morning I went out to leave for work after applying the brake and putting the truck in reverse I heard the back left brake groan, then I put it in drive and went nowere until I hit the gas then the brakes gave and off I went, I tried to get hte drum off to look at it but couldn’t, do you know any tricks to removing the drum??
After making sure the drum is free from interference from the brake shoes, using a 3lb hammer strike the drum very hard near the center of the drum (don’t hit the studs)I have removed many drums using this technique over the past 35 years.
It really helps having the car up on a rack,it makes the geometry of the swing easier, trying to make such a powerful swing while you and the car are close to the ground is difficult.
