As I remember, I paid about $10 for this 1 transistor radio kit which didn’t include headphones. In 1958, one of my high school classmates purchased a commercially made (I think it was made by Mallory) 4 transistor AM radio for $49.95. At that time, the Ford dealer was offering a stripped down Ford Custom 6 for the total price of $1849. He had several in stock. Sometime in the 1960’s, I bought a 4 AM transistor radio made someplace in Asia for $3.95. It came with a 5 year warranty. If anything went wrong with the radio, one could send it back with $5.00 to include shipping and handling. Needless to say, I didn’t use the warranty.
