Puff of white smoke

when the truck is started the first time in a day, a puff of white smoke is evacuated from the exhaust. it only happens once in a day every day. it last only at the initial start of the engine. it does not continue. Whats up with the smoke?

It’s normal if this happens on cool or cold days. It’s burning off condensation in the engine and exhaust system.

If it does this continuously, check for a breached head gasket.

How many miles? year? Your valve seals may be leaking a little. If it’s not requiring frequent oil adds, it’s OK. My '96 Toyota v6 does that each morning.

i will check the gasket. thanks
