No option to wait sometimes, but you are correct. We have to get VIN #’s off scrap autos. Wasps love to build in the door jambs and behind the gas flaps of cars that have been sitting. Have to just spray and pray, then try to decipher the VIN. I’ve been stung once this week myself. I emptied the can and then threw it at them, but one of the little boogers still nailed me.
this will help. LOL
That would also make draining the fluids out of the cars unnecessary. Dual purpose
That’ll work on weeds too. Actually last I looked Northern Hydraulics or Tools, whatever they are called now, has them.
Where I live in FL we have hornets or wasps that build nests on my soffit. The twenty foot spry cans work well on those.
Might be an urban myth, might be true:
Guy saw a spider in his laundry room. Used hairspray with cigarette light to creat a flame thrower. Started a fire. $40,000 in damage to the house he was renting.
But no more spider.
Probably real. When I was about 12, I took a can of spray deodorant and lit the spray with a lighter, in the house. Big flame, and it’s good that I didn’t set the house on fire. That was the last time I did that experiment.
I suspect that many, like I did, tried that ‘experiment once we heard about it from school mates.
That’s no myth. Tried it. It can do the same thing to your hair though so no smoking while spraying.
Vehicles are expensive. And I’m not just talking about the upfront cost. Repairs (not if it will need repairs, but when). Plus Gas, insurance, taxes, and general maintenance
i.e. tires, brakes, fluid changes etcetera.
The point is think long and hard. Do I really need a vehicle?
Impossible to live without one in a rural area. Unless I decide to quit work and “homestead” (don’t tempt me!). So it’ll depend on where you live, work, etc.
Yes I do need one Norman . Public transportation is a dream in some places plus in case you have not noticed there is a very bad Virus running loose.
Yeah I not only need one, I need two and even if we had bus service, I don’t like 30 other people cramped together and coughing on each other.
You seem to be replying for the OP, will you be able to provide rides? Did someone ask you specifically if a vehicle was a requirement? I understand that some seniors can get upset when someone clicks the wrong reply button but what happened here?
My boyfriend (now husband) once vacuumed out a white hornet’s nest at night. I think he hid the bag in the woods. I’ll have to ask him, happened about 35 yrs ago.-
as I child, I took upon removing the wasps’ nest at my grandma home… with a vacuum cleaner…
it was all fun to catch them one by one, then to apply some “motivation” with a stick and keep doing that… so after an hour or so, the nest was pretty much empty, but the angry family was buzzing in the vacuum and I did not have a good plan on what to do next
I ended up plugging the inlet with an old sock and then keeping vacuum outside for a few days, on a bright sun, until they did not buzz anymore…
the vacuum was “old school” and had a reusable bag… so these guys chewed up a number of holes there, plus they destroyed a half of my sock…
I only “need” one. But I like having three.
He just informed that the wasps were sucked into a bagless shopvac- and then he returned it to Sears! (just kidding–) He took off the top and left it "far away"in the woods for a few days so they would survive, sort of. !
