99 Accord, 4cyl vtec, 160,000 miles.
CEL painted 0401 “insufficient EGR flow” last week. Last night I replaced the EGR valve with a brand spanking new one and also cleaned out the EGR port.
CEL is still on. Do I need to have a tech. clear the trouble code or will this go out on its own after several cycles on the computer?

It should clear itself.
You may have changed the wrong part…Somewhere in the system there is a flow sensor, some sort of pressure-sensing device, that generates the trouble code…Also, on some EGR designs, the exhaust gas is routed through a rather small tube that can get plugged up.
Fixing this is not critical unless it’s preventing you from passing an emissions test…
