Oxygen Sensor - 1997 Lexus 300

Yesterday I had a “check engine” light on my display. I took the car to a Lexus dealer. They told me I needed an Oxygen Sensor (also a valve adjustment). The cost of the sensor is $535.00. Do you think this is reasonable? Will my car run effectively without repair immediately.

They may be right, but I’d check with a good independent shop. Use the car talk mechanic finder. http://www.cartalk.com/content/mechx/find.html

The valves should be checked every 60k, so you’re probably due.
