Hmm, well maybe not so fast. That is definitely one of the newer ones (I was picturing a mid-90’s one), so and I would say that $2000 wouldn’t be out of the question, though 1,500 would definitely be the quick sale price especially given the deferred maintenance.

I wouldn’t accept a cashier’s check, too many frauds on that. Personal check, I’d tell them they get to wait for the check to clear before they get the car. Lets be honest, cash talks the loudest and best. If someone would offer me $2k with a check or $1500 in cash, I’d take the cash if I was in a hurry to dump the vehicle.
Ask to see their driver’s license. Write down their full name, address and license number. If they make off with the car, it will be easy for the police to find them. If you are concerned about strangers vistiting you, don’t do it alone. Have a friend or two with you when you show the car.
