One new tire 9, all others at 6!

2009 Corolla
Recently acquired car.
Currently the new tire is one the rear.
How to go about rotating the tire? Can I put a treads of 9 and 6 to the front?

I might be paying 4x $22 for the lifetime balance rotation as it doesn’t have one currently.

Normal rotate the tires… it is not an AWD so 3/32 is not that big a difference…

Why would you add lifetime balance to a tire with only 6/32 when it is recommended to replace them between 4-5/32, you are just wasting your money, most lifetime balances are for the life of that tire, not for the life of the vehicle, so you might want to double check that warranty…

Add the Lifetime balance to the new tires when you buy them next… I probably wouldn’t even balance them at 6/32 unless a weight fell off, if you have a vibration, then I would check the tires out really good for out of round or flat spots 1st…

Does it snow where you live? If so, anything under 6/32 won’t be very good in the snow, so my vote would be to get a full set of good all-season tires sometime this fall.

Another option, a new tire for the rear, so you have 6 & 6 on the front and 9 & 9 on the rear. Presuming this is FWD, not AWD.

I like this and also the one from @davesmopar

Its FWD and I am in Calif.

Be aware that cars tend to pivot around odd tires in emergency maneuvers - and if you are saying the ONLY difference is the tread depth, then the oddness is very small, so the risk is low, but still there. If there is a different brand as well, then the risk is higher.

So what you do is dependent on how much risk you are willing to take.

What’s Calif got to do with this question. A lot of California gets a lot of snow each year.

You got one new tire at 9am, and the others in the evening?
