Noise when driving at a low speed

Hello guys!

I posted here not too long ago about a noise coming from the rear driver’s side and it was suggested that uneven tires might be the culprit. I brought the car to the Toyota dealership and they said it was the tires. So I bought 4 brand new tires and then shortly became ill and had to have surgery.

My sister drove the car occasionally and she complained that there was a noise coming from the driver’s rear end. I was pissed.

So the noise is still there. The dealership said it was fixed by changing tires, which wasn’t the case.

Any suggestion ?

Dry bushings?
Wheel bearing?
Brake?
A description of the noise and when if occurs, or hopefully, a recording would be helpful.

Brake and bearings are cleared Toyota said.

There seems to be a difference of opinion

Your sister says there’s a noise

But the dealership people say the noise has been taken care of

Your sister heard this noise

Seems she should be the one talking to us

Whatever you’re telling us is not firsthand information

My brother did say it sounded like bearings. Toyota checked the bearings and they were all good.

My sister isn’t good at describing car related issues concerning sounds. Only said that when driving at a low speed the noise can be heard but goes away at higher speed.

Try swapping the rear drivers side tire with the front drivers side tire. If the noise moves with the tire, it’s the tire.

The issue with this is that the wheels are staggered.

You can do it temporarily as a test.

They didn’t hear the noise. They need to road test the vehicle again, perhaps someone with more sensitive hearing can drive the car.

I made an appointment with Toyota today. I’ll tell them to road test the car. Will write a note as I’m unable to drive as of now.

My ten year old grandson was concerned about the rear brake noise in my car. His experience is racing video games. I replaced all four brakes. The rears were hardly worn. Would have had to do it sometime anyway I guess but yeah you have to consider the source. Maybe a little rust or something that wore off.

If this car is not driven very much, I would expect there to be rust on the rotors.

Or switch the front and rear tires. If it’s the tire, the noise should move to the front.
