Eddie from Minneapolis called in the past weekend (9/13) with intermittent acceleration problems with his Mini Cooper. As a fellow owner I have my own theory as to a possible culprit but wonder what others may think.
One of the options that Minis come with is Dynamic Stability Control. I take my Mini to track fairly often and occasionally observe that I am unable to effectively accelerate out of some corners. If I look at the dash, an indicator light comes on telling me that the DSC is activated. If I turn the DSC off the next time exiting the corner I get wheel spin. My theory is either that Eddie has DSC and is either trying to accelerate faster than he should, or that the DSC is somehow malfunctioning and holding Eddie back when it shouldn’t. Anyone have any other ideas, or am I just that brilliant and solved the problem?
