We have a 2018 Nissan Rogue SV AWD. It has 30K miles and went in to dealer for service. I was not available today, so they convenience my wife into services that I am questioning if they should have been required at 30K?
1: Flushing brake fluid; Brake fluid exchange using Valvoline protection brake fluid system
brake fluid dot 4 48 oz
2: Automatic transmission service Flushvalvoline transmission system (includes CVT)
Kit: PKCVTFLUSH: CVT Flush
- Recommended in the near future
- Differential or transfer case service
- Rear differential service
Looking at the official 2018 Nissan Rogue manual, it does not show if fluids should be changed only that they are looked at for color etc…
The Manufacture use to have millage recommended service interval with detail as to what should be checked, and replaced etc. Now it seems they leave the maintenance vague and leave it up to dealers! How ethical are they? I look at some dealers websites that have a nice detailed maintenance that show no fluid changes expect Oil at 30K up to changing brakes, transmission, like my dealer did? How does an owner understand what is the correct thing to do to maintain their pride, joy and blood and sweet in an expensive $30K vehicle? Yes 30K is a lot to us!
