12,000-mile plug change went away with when electronic ignition came along. Electronic ignition produced a strong spark and thus you could gap the plugs wider and this drastically improved the longevity of the sparkplug. Went from 12k to 30k, Then, with the introduction of other materials like platinum or iridium it really increased the plug longevity. 100k+ was the norm UNTIL direct injection vehicles. Vehicles that once had a 100k plug interval change are now 60k when it went to direct injection.
It is not the Japanese vehicle manufactures that are recommending excessive maintenance, it is the Americans on this forum that recommend replacing fluids two to three times more often than shown on the maintenance schedule.
So you recommend not servicing an automatic transmission for 150,000 miles? That’s what the owners manual states.
I will not wait for mine to reach that mileage.
OLM to go to “change oil soon”, I prefer to change at 20%.
I don’t care if others never change their oil.

Just incase you are too lazy to look for number 5, here is what it says about changing the coolant, I am sure a few or more vehicles are the same…
5) Initial replacement at 100,000 miles/120 months. Replace every 50,000 miles/60 months thereafter.
On another note, for my warranty, it is required to change the spark plugs at 60K for the Emissions Control Warranty…
