Hello. My Altima has about 85000 miles on it and it makes a loud noise in the rear of the car when I hit 40 mph. Then it goes away (or gets lower) at 45, then back loud at 60, then lower, then away at like 80. Had it checked for the transmission becuase I orginally thought it was associated with shifting.
Had new breaks put in today and had tires rotated. The noise is still there, though not quite as loud.
Thanks!
most likely a wheel bearing. should be about 150 or so. look around and get a couple of estimates. your local mechanic can trouble shoot this for you too.
Tyres or wheel bearings. Do the tyres have any unusual wear?
It was a wheel bearing in the right rear. Thanks! Sorry so long for the reply.
