I have a 95 Mitsubishi Galant. Recently it cut off without warning during driving. Giving gas and no response. It could NOT be started immediately and could be started after 20-30 minute engine off.
A mechanic told me the distributor was wrong. This distributor was put in 3 years ago. What could be wrong except the distributor?
Thank you very much for your time.
If it has a timing belt that broke could be a possibility.
Thank you for your comment. The timing belt was replaced at 70k mileages. Now it has 105K mileages.
Timing Belt…NO WAY. Timing belts don’t FIX themselves. If it broke the car won’t run until it’s fixed. The OP stated the car would start after 20 minutes.
I don’t think it’s the distributor since it’s been working fine for 3 years. You need to take this to a competent mechanic who can trouble shoot this for you. Sounds like an ignition problem. Something heating up.
