Yes, per kw-h. The pricing data is hard to find, that’s for sure. Multiple plans offered, and the explanation offered for each plan is overly simplified. Varies from season to season as well. I expect b/c the pricing is complicated, and if trying to explain all the details, forest vs trees situation. 37 cents isn’t the highest though. Here’s one PGE plan I found that goes as high as 49 c per kw-h.
Various other added fees as well, taxes, etc, not covered by the basic rate plan.
A congressional hearing a while back suggested that the break even point was around 150,000 miles and plugging in was the same as running 25 refrigerators. Of course that didn’t include big increases coming for power rates or the potential for battery replacement among other issues. Fool me once as they say…
150,000 is way high. I’ve read several studies, of course it depends on the source of the electricity. If 100% coal, around 80,000 miles, if solar around 8,000 miles, everything else in between.
