KYB, Monroe, or Gabriel?

Which do you recommend?

If it matters, I’m replacing front struts on a 2008 Toyota Sienna. I’ll be doing the work in my yard. I’m buying complete assemblies as I have a broken spring.

I value ya’ll opinion. Thank you for your advice!

KYB, Gabriel and Monroe in that order

KYB has been selling junk since the pandemic.

Sure, but what brand hasn’t?

Rockauto shows Sachs available, I was happy with a set of them.

you can try these, and they are made in the USA. I have never tried them, but I have heard good things from other parts they have.

I got these. $20. Seller car died. Never installed.

The last ones I bought were from Moog, which I bought based on name alone. They were fine. The worst ones I ever bought were Monroes (that I replaced with the Moogs). The problem is that at this point (and not just because of the pandemic) most of this is just subcontracted out. The ones labeled “Moog” might have come off the same production line as the ones labeled KYB or Gabriel or … whatever.

The Sienna is going on 20yrs old. I’d be inclined to go in the order Mustangman gave:

But that’s just from the “gut.” Tester has been bringing up the decline in KYB quality for quite a while.

If you’re serious about keeping this thing on the road for a long time, then consider buying OEM and doing the strut assy yourself (but VERY carefully). If not…then buy whatever.

The auto repair shop the son works for stopped installing KYB products some time ago because of the quality.

Too many come-backs.

That’s valuable information. Thank you!

I put my struts in. Found 1 loose sway bar link. Always something.
