Knocking Sound on a 1999 Olds Silhouette

A knocking sounds comes from my front right wheel area that can sometimes be felt in the steering wheel at low speeds. When I drive fast (above 35 mph) I don’t hear or feel it. The frustrating part of the problem is that when I took the car into the shop I could not duplicate the sound. They replaced the right tie rod end and did not correct the problem. As I have driven more with this problem I now notice that the sound happens typically after a long (15 min) or more drive on the freeway. Once I drive on surface streets after the freeway and the sound happens typically while slowing at a stop light.

The sounds is speed dependent. The slower I drive the slower the knock is.

Sounds like a classic inside CV joint.
