Kia’s incredibly useful blind-spot monitor

Next time, you might consider photochromic lenses. I’ve had those since they came out with them. They change really fast now and get very dark. My whole family has them. No need for two pairs of glasses.

They don’t work inside a car.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I have had plenty of stuff blow in my eye(s) before, the 2nd worst was rust from an old full size Blazer that I was adjusting the Modulator on after doing some trans work to it, anyway, had to go to an eye dr over that one to have some kind of a drill to get it out, trust me you don’t want to move at that point… I have been known to use speaker magnets with a paper towel over it to hold up to my eye to remove the metal… lol

Rather they work in vehicles or not, my glasses are on the smaller size, I guess stylish(?), so they would not keep the sun out as well as the sunglasses frames that I got, they work great and when I had to cut up the 65’ tree that fell after one of our wonderful storms, they also worked great to keep chainsaw dust from getting in my eyes and the sun out also, I had forgotten I even had them on… They are name brand fancy shades, but still kinda look ugly to me, but function over form I guess…
Also my windows are 35%, so that might mess with the photochromic lenses…

Photochromic lenses can be fitted in any frame that you choose. Big lenses, or small, the choice is up to you.

They now have some that do. Transitions® XTRActive Polarized lenses will darken in the car but won’t offer polarization without the UV exposure.

I get it, I have a separate pair of prescription sunglasses for fishing that are polarized and have side shields. My wife chooses to use these over the glasses shades that make her look bug like (at least I tease her about it). But for 99% of the time, I like the combination provided by the Transitions lenses I have. They are also polycarbonate for impact protection and have a gradient tint applied to them. Not scrambling for, or carrying two pairs of glasses for those times I go in/out…especially for work related activities.

I think you missed something, Having my normal glasses frame no matter even if you painted them black, they would still allow the bright lights around them and not work for their intended purpose…

Don’t have to worry about the work anymore.. lol

I keep mine in the overhead glasses cubby in the truck, so I always know where they are at… I have however forgotten about them and walk almost to where I am going and have to turn around and go back to the truck and swap glasses, so other than that, I don’t really need them… I also always have a hat on so that help when I am outside with my regular glasses on…

Funny thing, when I took my wife to her biopsy thingy, I waited in the truck with the pitties and took my laptop, I again had forgotten that I had my polarized sunglasses on and I keep trying to wake up the laptop, I did everything I could think of and couldn’t get it to power up, finally I realized I had the shades on and when I took them off I could see the laptop WAS on… Yeah they mess with seeing my phone sometimes also…

A friend had acuity fluctuations and his ophthalmologist suggested lens replacement. He got it and hasn’t had visual acuity fluctuation anymore.

Yup!
Rx polarized sunglasses with side shields.
Something like this:

The acuity fluctuation is related to my medical issue ( weak tissues ) and cannot be fixed.

The good thing is that I don’t notice a fluctuation until I take an eye exam. So it doesn’t bother me.

It seems like the brain adopt to things as to why I don’t notice changes until I take an exam. Because on days when my acuity was 20/60 I had no problem seeing.
