The pipe might be breaking away from the muffler in the back. The muffler looks like it is mounted normally and not tilted. Your car will sound louder than normal from the back when you have the windows down when this happens. You’ll hear your car’s exhaust when you drive next to a concrete barrier that reflects the sound back. It’s not loud enough to seem out of the ordinary though, like it would if the flex joint in the front had failed.
Make sure the shop uses stainless steel pipes and welding. Else it will have a hole in it again within 5 years.
I don’t like it when the muffler place tries to get rid of the flange, since you can’t remove that exhaust section to service the fuel tank and parking brake.
Another “ you made me look” post. Different year Camry, 07, four cylinder. OEM exhaust system still up where it should be, never hit on speed bumps or RR crossings.
Again, based on your questions, an independent muffler/exhaust shop is safest way to do it.
To the Original Poster (OP), as you can see much has been written about low hanging exhaust pipes and those pipes hitting or even being ripped off when the car is put on a lift.
I know it may sound stupid to have to say this, but if you do take it to a shop to have it looked at, TELL The Service Writer that the exhaust pipe is so low that it is almost dragging on the ground and that they need to be careful when pulling it onto the lift.
It’s not always the service technician that pulls the car in, sometimes it’s a “car jockey” who may not know the pipe is so low…
You do not want to have to pay for an exhaust pipe when an inexpensive hanger will fix it…
