Is repair cost unreasonable - fuel intake

My 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon has a leaking fuel intake hose (the hose is hosed). It is definitely leaking since I get gas smell coming in through my heater. The parts are “cheap” at around $90. Labor is about $700!

Is that ridiculous for this type of repair?

Check with another shop.

I’ve looked under the hood of a WRX. It’s packed solid with the intercooler, its plumbing, and assorted other things, and there’s almost no room to work on anything. There are probably many parts that have to be removed to get to the fuel hose. Then they all have to be put back where they belong. That’s what you’re paying for.

Get an estimate from an independent shop.

Thanks!

Depends on your locale. However this repair which was common on 2002 wrx is around $600 typically. Lots has to be removed to perform it.
