And at least on my Camaro, I can do it myself without any equipment except a compressor in 10 minutes.

I realize this sounds like a major pain, but before shopping for tires and tire services, it’s a good idea to pop by 3 or 4 local shops at a time they aren’t overly busy and chat with the staff about the tires and services that you are interested in. Ask about the different options available for your car, and which option they recommend for your particular situation. Ask them to explain why. I expect you’ll discover there are major differences in the level of customer accommodation, one tire vendor to another.

Well, you are right; I let the proximity and my desire to contribute to my neighborhood override some more important characteristics. I normally would go to a reputable chain, but I supplied all of the material and suspected that a chain does not want to just perform labor without also selling product, and potentially have liability for customer supplied product.

If you must know, the reasons for all of this rigamarole were that I bought my car with only two new-ish tires and one of the factory rims was bent. So, instead of rushing to find one matching rim and then buying new matching tires, I luckily found someone on Craigslist selling an entire set of matching OEM rims with their original tires on them nearly unused. That is what I have been using for the past year-and-a-half. They’re approaching their useful lifespan and will be replaced with winter tires.
Since then, I was able to find a matching replacement rim for the factory set and also two more used tires that match the new-ish ones from the previous owner (same size, same brand and model, all are 8-9/32" tread depth). I woulda bought two new tires from Discount Tire (these tires seem to be one of their brands) and had them take care of this, but they don’t offer that size any more.

Thanks for the update. It’s at least gratifying to know that the mistake was fixed even if it wasn’t when first pointed out.
