My 79 TA has increased oil pressure. At idle it sits right at 40 while driving it constantly sits at 60 and when I hit the gas it max’s at 80? Is this normal?
I do need to someday replace the seals, but need to know if I’m doing any damage?
Yes. Be happy…What weight (5-20, 10-30, 10-40, 20-50 oil are you using?) Also, your oil pressure sending unit might be getting weak and unreliable…
10W30 Synthetic.
Replace the pressure sender and see what happens…There is an oil pressure relief spring that limits the upper pressure reading…Your gauge should never reach the upper limit if the sender is working properly…
