Apparently not… Our '14 Audi had an auxiliary electric water pump recall for the car when we bought it.
The pump could catch fire… so the interim fix was to disconnect the pump from the electrical supply until new pumps were available 5-6 months later.
On another note… MY '21 Mustang had a recall notice on it when I bought it in 2025 for potentially faulty fuel pumps… but no fix was available. The supplier to the supplier to the maker of the pumps had let some of the parts go to the edge of spec. Not out, to the edge. Now 13 months later, there is a software fix, but only a temporary software fix.
