I wouldnt walk into a Walmart if they were giving merchandise away for free.
lol … reminds me of the time I was trying to buy some cottage cheese. As I approached the door in the refrigerated section I needed to open to grab the container, another shopper about 10 feet away starts screaming at me " Stay away from THAT door, I was here first!" … lol …
I would have told her to go eff herself.
@Tester Thank you for the link to the explanation about AGM batteries. I had never heard of them before. Very interesting. One of the fun things about this forum is the ongoing education I’ve absorbed a bit of here over the years.
Hi Marnet, I havent seen you in a while. How have you been?
I’m doing okay for the most part. Thank you for asking.
My current crazy work schedule has me usually spending far less time online than in the past, so I don’t get to read here on the forum as often as in the past. But I do drop in when I can even if I don’t happen to comment on any topic.
I haven’t gone into a Walmart in years but shop there often online. They delivered the battery to my door last week along with some groceries. Really convenient.
Im glad youre feeling ok. We miss you when we dont see you. This at least gives me the opportunity to wish you happy holidays!
I like your style
I’ve NEVER bought one darn thing there in all my years
And I never will
They are a major driver of America’s race to the bottom.
Hmm, when I got out of the military my first job I had was at Walmart. That was when Sam was alive. With Walmart about a mile away, I’m in there 3-4 times a week.
I only used curbside pickup once because I could not find the item (propane torch) in the aisle indicated. Went home, ordered for curbside, that found it was out of stock, so went to Ace.
As far as home delivery, I don’t use it, much is from third party sellers with long shipping/delivery delays or non-fulfillment.
My biggest gripe with Walmart (and other companies) is taking the tax advantage of moving their customer call service offshore.
Funny, we use online Walmart all the time, as neither one of us can walk through the store and do not want to ride the cart in the store, we have never had an issue and most of the time it is delivered same day or next day, now we don’t order stuff that would not normally be in one of our local Walmart’s, We have also used the curbside a few times, haven’t been in the store in years though… lol
We also do the curbside or whatever Kroger calls it for groceries, when it is hard to walk 100 feet, it is nice to be able to use them…
No it is not always 100% perfect, but close enough…
But that is our experience in our little part of the world…
Very True…
What was truly funny the item I needed, on a monthly basis was a Walmart brand (Equate) item. Local store stopped carrying the product. Went to Walmart online, only available through third party sellers, sometime delivered sometime not. Talked to their agent (Philippines?) no help, so switched to Amazon, exact same product but under an Amazon brand (Amazon Basics), always delivered on time.
Yeah I agree, if it is not an instore thing, we (more he lol) uses Amazon…
Like who would buy an engine or transmission online from Walmart??? (as an extreme example) lol
What!!! You wouldn’t order a bored and stroked 440 for your RR from Walmart?
That is just plain scary even thinking about what you would end up with…
We live in the extreme heat of a Phoenix AZ summer. My 1999 Avalon Walmart batteries would die each year, and Walmart faithfully honored their warranty. After several warranty replacements, they denied that the battery was bad again. So I took it to an auto shop, they tested and reported it bad, so Walmart once again honored their warranty. But the next year, I switched to another brand with no more failures–didn’t want the wife being stranded by a dead battery again.
I have used the Walmart brands, Everstart(?) and Duracell from Sam’s without problems. Maybe it’s just luck. Both of my current vehicles have Motorcraft .
There are few battery manufactures.
[1. Top 5 Lead-Acid Battery Manufacturers :
[1.1. Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls)]
[1.2. GS Yuasa
[1.3. Exide
[1.4. East Penn
[1.5. EnerSys
I think that list is based on sales volume…
Which manufacturer supplies which brand, I do not know. The Everstart batteries I have purchased did say Johnson Controls on the label.
My suspicion Walmart (and others) periodically solicit new offers from the manufacturers, then goes with the lowest bidder.
The Best warranty is the one not needed… lol
I started using Walmart curbside pickup when Covid started to get groceries so I did not have to go into a store. Today I use it to buy a lot of things. They were and are the only store to buy groceries at that did not charge you a cent to shop for you and bring it out to the car.
I don’t buyeverything there, I get meat at a locak butcher shop and some things from Price Rite, Trader Joes and Aldi, produce I get at Trader Joes or a very good Farmers Market in North Tonawanda.
Walmart’s delivery service was pitiful for me, I had a 30 day free trial but they never once delivered it where instructed and they suggested a 20 percent tip which led me to believe they were not paying the people that delivered it.
Their shipping for online orders of products sold by them is free with a $35 order and is fine, sometimes delivered the same day/
