On the other hand ? of course you knew this .Dang tempting on the mirage ,my problem is ,I do not want two vehicles.
“Where has Ed been?” Sitting here with a bottle of wite-out trying to align the days of the week with the day of the month on my FREE calendar. They don’t line up because the calendar is 2015 and this is 2016, a leap year, so all the days are two days off. . . . can’t argue with a FREE calendar tho. . . now who’s gonna pay for all this wite-out?
Regarding @FoDaddy 's comment: No Coronary. Its your hard-earned money, spend it on what makes YOU happy. I am self-aware enough to realize that if everyone decided to live like me, the economy would collapse tomorrow.
ME, if I were spending $40,000 (give or take a few grand) I would expect to get all of the following (second-hand of course) A boat to take family / friends out on the water, a waverunner, and a good workhorse pickup truck to pull that other stuff with, with hopefully a few grand left over to put into the gas tanks.
Edit to add: “. . . had 60 Marages (sp) last week they now have 74, the inventory is growing.” Maybe they’ve become sentient and are breeding behind the dealership after-hours. Uh-oh! Man, these wite-out fumes are really making me light-headed.
You would have to be frugal to rewrite a calendar.
You passed on part 1 of the great Mitsubishi sale, what about part 2?
If I were to spend $12,000 on a car it would be a Mustang or Charger. I couldn’t spend $12,000 on a small car, I can buy a used compact car for less than $2,000 and the difference in fuel cost per month is pocket change.
Well, if you save seven calenders, you have all non-leap-years covered. Save 14, and you never have to buy another:-)
My Mirage dealer had like 30 when I bought the car. I called them yesterday about something and they were down to 3 with one of those likely sold.
I get so many free calendars from the insurance companies, realty agents, etc. that I end up throwing many away or using them as fire starter in my wood fires. Just pickup a free one somewhere as they are common.
The dealer in Everett shows 30 of the DE w/manual transmission at $7,900, but i don’t know how often they update the inventory. The dealer here in Olympia shows 5 in stock. All CVT’s
Typewriters ? Mine is in my attic, I don’t know where I would get ribbon or ink for it though, !0 years ago I was still using it. Had never used a computer and didn’t have one and nobody can read my hand writing, even me.
@oldtimer We donated our manual Underwood typewriter to a mission in Africa. This mission is in the jungle with very unreliable electric power. The doctor who collects donations said it was perfect for their clinic for typing up records and writing prescriptions.
So it lives on and has a happy life.
FYI, children are FASCINATED by manual typewriters. One they’re old enough to know not to"mash" all the keys at once…you can occupy them for hours, for the cost of a few sheets of paper.
Has the rear axle alignment/design issue been fixed yet? How is the durability against potholes?
From what I saw on the forum, some cars were shipped with faulty rear axles. This impacted some but not all the cars made at that time as I guess one supplier had an issue. These cars were recalled and the problem parts replaced. This issue has been taken care of.
I would assume these cars do pretty well on rough roads. One of the common complaints by the professional reviewers is that the suspension feels like it is designed around 3rd world roads. The 2017 model is supposed to have MUCH better suspension, at least according to most US buyers. I haven’t heard of any other suspension issues besides the axle problem you reference.
It appears that this car was an experiment in the US market for Mitsubishi. Some of the company thought it would sell OK while others thought it would be a total flop so not a whole lot of thought was put into it during the first year. Sales numbers were higher than expected so now they are willing to make changes only for the US market.
