IF you try vinegar, use it on the glass and see if you can get a patch to come clean. Glass is a lot tougher than automotive finishes. If a spot comes clean, there may be hope for the paint as well. IF not, you can be pretty sure that the paint is also etched. I would do this more for informational purposes than cleaning the car. LEt someone else do that.
I agree that you shouldnât try to do this work yourself. Have a pro do it and have the person that caused the problem pay for it. This may be expensive even if the car doesnât need to be repainted and you might damage it doing it yourself.
