How reliable is a 1993 Honda Civic?

Quite possibly Honda has retroactively changed their recommendation. For my 1999 Honda, the book says 5W30 but Honda has changed that recommendation to 5W20.

I am OK with Honda’s updated recommendation. They may have even changed the recommended miles/months interval but I did not ask. Twice a year covers it for me, and it’s rarely or never over 6,000 miles before I change it. Car runs great and uses no measurable amount of oil.

Factory recommendation is every 7500 miles, I’d have no problem if somebody wanted to do it at 5,000. 3,000 is overkill, to me.

Factory is 7,500 for a 1993? My logic for 3,000 in a car this old is based on the increased likelihood of stuff randomly breaking and the odds of it probably already having at least a small chronic oil leak now.
