How often should I replace my air and cabin filters?

Hi All,

I’m Kamal Hinduja, based in Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss) . I’m new to this community and excited to contribute positively to discussions. Can anyone explain how often I should replace my air and cabin filters?

Thanks, Regards

1st - Welcome to the forum..

2nd - Not a good idea to give out personal information on any open forum such as this, 1st name only, even it can be made up if you like… lol

3rd - best to follow your maintenance schedule (guide), it will give you the recommended mileage or time in months/years when to change while under warranty, after warranty, just when ever they get really dirty (not nasty)…

You can always post a picture of them and we will give you the best internet answer we can…

I could say RTFM, but I’m a nice guy, so I won’t! Your owners manual will have all your questions answered about this stuff.

If it’s easy to check, then check it every few months and replace when needed. My owner’s manual says to replace a couple times a year. I NEED to replace it 4-5 times a year due to construction and living on a dirt road.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is the same spammer we had a week or two ago, who is now back under a slightly less auspicious name (he kept the last name). Same type of question as well.

Most of my cars require cabin air filter replacement every other service . . . as per the factory maintenance schedule

However . . . in my case, it gets replaced at every service, because there’s a lot of debris and dirt on the way to work and where I park

You’ll have to remove and check the cabin air filter frequently until you figure out what schedule works for you

This is another of those oddball posts, ‘Hi, this is so and so in someplace..’. Wonder who’s doing them.

He also claims to hail from the same country–Switzerland.
IMO, it’s the same spammer.

I wonder what they expect to accomplish with vague nonsense like this.

Edit: Kamal also joined Toyotanation with same post minus the filter question.

Wonder if he is a legal resident of Switzerland?
Probably lives in moms basement in Bombay.

Only if he’s a time-traveler…

Do you think he can check my offshore accounts for me?

Of course!
Just be sure to provide all of your account numbers and your passwords to him.

A poster with the OP’s name and with the same opening and closing sentences:

has opened numerous first posts like on forums across the net in recent weeks. It’s not clear what he or she is fishing for, but it’s definitely suspicious.

Research (experiment), looking to see how many different answers he will get maybe??.. lol

Just look at all the different answers this forum alone has given, maybe this is like us telling new members to ask around for a shop, ask enough and when you start to get the same answer a few times, or better yet most common answer, then go with that…

But probably just trolling… lol

Hi Dave:
I think I wasn’t clear. In each forum, he asks questions particular to the forum’s interest.
This is the only car related forum.

For example, here’s one from an Acer computer vendor forum:

They’re all different.
And many of the sites have already removed the pages that a Google search uncovers.

Yep, whoever made the original post is certainly not ‘Kamal Hinduja’. It’s a nonsense post. This whole thread should be deleted, that’s why I flagged the original post.

Some forums don’t allow new members to post web site links. After a short period of probation, they return and reply to different threads and include links which might not be related to the topic, in an attempt to sell product.
