Honda Odyssey Air Conditioner

My 1996 Honda Odyssey air conditioner works great 98% of the time. However, from time to time, it only blows warm air - not a good thing here in Orlando. Could it be the thermostat? A sensor? Or, please no, the compressor? How does one diagnose and solve this problem?

Does it happen to blow warm air when you accelerate quickly, like when you enter a freeway? A/C systems are designed to cut out under heavy throttle application, so that as much engine power as possible is used to propel the car. If under heavy throttle application is the only time the A/C doesn’t work properly, then that just means the A/C is doing what it’s supposed to do.

No, acceleration makes no difference. It either works very well or not at all. Most days it works. Other days - not at all.
