Honda Civic EX

QUESTION again - I’m looking at this car for my son as his first car.

I had posted previously about another Honda to ask about repairs and any guidance.

Same goes here  we are looking for safe, reliable, and based on the Carfax is there anything Major i.e. belts or transmission for example that I’d have to be aware of before purchasing?

My initial thought was the vehicle was ‘maintained’ and maybe that is all it requires but I thought I’d see something else than just inspection/tires etc. so was concerned that maybe something routine wasn’t completed?

Thanks again - great responses in this group for sure!

I don’t see where the timing belt was replaced based on time.

From what I found, all Civics 2006 and up have a timing chain and not a belt.

The car has a bit less than average mileage for an '09 and has been serviced more or less regularly.

As advised before… have YOUR mechanic check the car out before you sign anything. Have the engine carefully inspected to make sure oil changes were done regularly… the CarFax lists 2 times in 92K miles. Not to say it wasn’t done more often and not reported to CarFax… but have it checked.

Looks to me like the oil was only changed every 20,000 miles or so.

That would give me pause.
