The one advantage for me when gasoline prices were high was that I made the excuse that it was too expensive to mow the yard with the high gasoline prices. However, I bought a rechargeable battery electric mower at a good price from a friend. Now I hope electric rates go up so that I may again use the argument that energy costs are too high to mow the yard.
Please, folks, I urge you, don’t dig up old threads that already have hundreds of replies. It plugs up the forum needlessly and there’s nothing new to be said.

Do you also hope that the price of food goes up so that fat people lose weight?
Should we eliminate horns from cars in order to cut down on jaywalkers?
I wish I could have recorded my sigh-chuckle-groan when I saw this thread back at the top of the discussions. Before our OP answers @VDCdriver’s follow-ups, I’m going to close it.
