I HAVE A 1987 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO TROFEO WHICH IS EQUIPPED DELCO GM BOSE MUSIC SYSTEM. RECENTLY A LOUD HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL CAN BE HEARD COMING FROM THE SOUND SYSTEM WHILE IT IS ON. HOW CAN I PINPOINT THE PROBLEM AND HOW CAN I CORRECT IT.
does the problem exist when the engine is off?if it is a wail that varys with engine rpm,it may be picking up interference from the alternator.
Indeed, it could be something as simple as a ground which has come loose. Check all your connections, and grounds for the power supply and antenna.
I will check that out. The sound was intermittent. It would come on suddenly while driving and sometimes fade away. I would turn off the radio and then on again, and it would be find, but now it has the high pitch all the time. I don’t remember if the sound was there with the engine off. Thanks
